FIVE cup finals, 29 goals and countless cheers, smiles and medals was the perfect way to wrap up another successful season in the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League on Friday.

A pulsating evening started in style as Joseph Wright and Youcef Boudhkila scored two goals apiece to help Highbury Wolves win the Under-8s Challenge Cup. Eddie Wright was also on target as Wolves ran out 5-0 winners against Chapel Youth.

Chapel fans also had reason to cheer when their goalkeeper, Bobby Henry, was voted the man-of-the-match.

Goals from man-of-the-match Alex Poynter, Haziq Kyril and Jon Dragusha saw Fusion narrowly beat Regent’s Park Knights 3-2 to lift the Under-9s Alan Michael Browne Cup. Turner Hershenson and Anthony Delaney scored for Regent’s Park in a five-goal thriller.

Keeper Rex Boulter was the hero as Regent’s Park Rebels beat TT Sapo Verde on penalties to win the Under-11s Challenge Cup.

The game finished 3-3, with Elliot Abbas-Gilbert bagging a brace and setting up Patrick Wilson to score for the Rebels, while two goals from George Travers and a neat finish from man-of-the-match Luc Achermann-Stanfield gave Sapo fans plenty to celebrate.

Isledon Wolves gave departing manager Tasha Ademakinwa the perfect send-off by wrapping up the treble.

Having already won the Harrow League and the Camden & Islington League, they beat AFC 5-2 to capture the Under-14s Cup.

Reece Dewar scored twice, while star player Deon Marshall, twin brother Nicky, and Alfie Lusardi were also all on target for Wolves.

James Kelly scored a hat-trick to guide Islington Admiral to a league and cup double.

Wilfie White also scored as Admiral beat Crown and Manor 4-2 to add the Challenge Cup to the Under-16s league title.

Admiral defender Harvey Cadden was voted man-of-the-match in a gripping final.
