SPEEDSTERS from Brookfield Primary School were all cheers and smiles after racing to victory in the Camden Schools Sports Association Cross-Country Championships.

More than 1,400 kids took part in eight races at Parliament Hill Fields, resulting in the primary in Chester Road scoring 780 points to finish ahead of runners-up Christ Church from Hampstead and Gospel Oak, who finished in third place.

Cabinet member for customers, communities and culture, Cllr Abdul Hai, was among the supporters who watched the event, which was organised by Camden Sport and Physical Activity Service. He said: “I was delighted to see hundreds of primary schoolchildren from across the borough taking part in the race. It was a day full of fun.”
