SPURS players have been enjoying a mid-season break in Barcelona as they prepare to face Wycombe Wanderers in the fourth round of the FA Cup this weekend.
The side have been training at the Spanish city’s Olympic stadium ahead of their clash against the League Two side this Saturday at White Hart Lane.
One player not present was Erik Lamela, who is still in Rome being treated for his long-standing hip injury by doctors at his former club, Roma.
But the winger has rubbished reports in the press that he won’t be returning to Tottenham as he wants to leave the club.
He announced on Twitter: “Just to be clear, I am in Rome at the moment recovering for [sic] an injury and not for any other thing that is not to do with football. Missing White Hart Lane every minute!”
Meanwhile, skipper Hugo Lloris has spoken of the positives the side have taken from the 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the weekend.
Spurs were two goals down – both due to uncharacteristic errors from the keeper – but came back to earn a point.
“Of course, I would have preferred to avoid my mistakes but even at 2-0 down, the team showed great spirit,” he said.
“It showed the mentality of this team.
“I’m sure a few years ago we might have conceded a bad defeat in a situation like that.”
